ONLINE APPLICATION FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC YEAR
Njala University is pleased to inform the applicants, parents, guardians, and the general public that online application is now open for admissions into various undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate programmes of study for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Important: Applicants are advised to visit the University's website https://njala.edu.sl and carefully read all relevant information and guidelines for prospective applicants before applying.
Guidelines on How to Apply
All applicants must create an account with a valid email address and password. You will receive a verification link at the email address you provided. Click the link in the email sent by Njala University to verify your account. If you do not see the verification link in your inbox, check your spam box.
Step 1: Create and Verify your Account
Visit the university online Admissions portal at: https://misnjala.edu.sl/apply to sign up and verify your account.
For New Applicants:
- Visit https://misnjala.edu.sl/apply and click on the "Online Application" button
- Choose "Create Account" and use a valid email address
- Check your inbox or spam folder for a verification link
- Click "Verify My Email Address" and set your password
- Login and proceed with your application — you will receive an email with your registration number and an invoiced application fee
For Existing Users:
- Click on the "Login" button
- Enter your Email and password to access your account
- Continue your application or check your application status
After verifying your account, proceed with the payment of the application processing fee.
Step 2: Pay your Application Processing Fee
All applicants MUST pay their application processing fee at any of the branches of the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank or via Mobile Money (Afrimoney and WANGOV).
The cost of the application processing fee for Postgraduate programmes is NLE 600.

Payment Process:
- Student creates an account at the Njala University MIS portal
- Student receives an email with the registration number and invoiced application fee
- Student pays the application fee via Bank, Afrimoney or WANGOV
- The payment is forwarded to the Njala University MIS portal
- Student continues the application process
Payment for Normal Fees:
- Finance officer at Njala University generates an invoice to students
- Student enters his/her registration number at the Bank, on Afrimoney USSD (*161*2*4*1#) or on WANGOV
- Student gets a list of invoices on his/her registration number
- Student chooses an invoice to pay
- Pay for the invoice
- The payment is forwarded to the Njala MIS

General Admission Requirements for Graduate Programmes
A. Taught Masters Programmes
The basic requirement for admission into a postgraduate programme at Njala University is a degree from a recognized university in the relevant field of study. Departments may, however, demand additional requirements.
B. M.Phil and PhD Programmes
The Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees of Njala University are, essentially, research-based degrees awarded to candidates of outstanding academic and professional standing. Admission into these programmes, therefore, is based on several criteria that the candidate should meet. These include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Possession of a first degree of at least Second Class, First division (2:1)
- Possession of postgraduate qualification (PGDE; M.A.; M.Sc.; M.Ed. etc.)
- Clear articulation of a research focus to be contained in the Abstract submitted with the application form
- Evidence that the candidate is in touch with or has identified a competent supervisor in the University willing to supervise him/her is an advantage

Full-Time: Two (2) Calendar Years
Part-Time: Three (3) Calendar Years
