Research in Sierra Leone Studies (RISLS): Weave (ISSN: 2167-9835) is a refereed, open access, open-text, electronic journal that publishes articles, book reviews, interviews, drama, fiction, and poetry on Sierra Leonean themes from national, international, diasporic, and global perspectives. The journal can be freely accessed world-wide via the Internet.

The Journal of Sierra Leone Studies –

The Journal of Sierra Leone Studies is the first Journal dedicated solely to Sierra Leone and to have been published for a long time. The Journal will not concentrate on one area of academic study and invites contributions from anyone researching and writing on Sierra Leone to send their articles to: John Birchall for consideration. Prospective contributions should be between 3500-5000 words in length, though we will in special circumstances consider longer articles and authors can select whether they wish to be peer reviewed or not. Articles should not have appeared in any other published form before. The Editorial Board reserves the right to suggest changes they consider are needed to the relevant author (s) and to not publish if such recommendations are ignored.

Directory of Open Access Journals –

Directory of Open Access Journals is a service that indexes and provides access to quality-controlled Open Access Journals and their articles. The Directory aims to be comprehensive and cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use an appropriate quality control system, and it will not be limited to particular languages or subject areas. The aim of the Directory is to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals thereby promoting their increased usage and impact.

ipl2 -

ipl2 is a public service organization and a learning/teaching environment. To date, thousands of students and volunteer library and information science professionals have been involved in answering reference questions for our Ask an ipl2 Librarian service and in designing, building, creating and maintaining the ipl2's collections. It is through the efforts of these students and volunteers that the ipl2 continues to thrive to this day.

Microsoft Academic Search indexes not only millions of academic publications, it also displays the key relationships between and among subjects, content, and authors, highlighting the critical links that help define scientific research. As is true of many research projects at Microsoft, this service is not intended to be a production Web site, and it will likely be taken offline when appropriate given the research goals of the project.

From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites. Google Scholar helps you find relevant work across the world of scholarly research.

Internet Archive: Digital Library of Free & Borrowable Books, Movies, Music & Wayback Machine

The Internet Archive is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that was founded to build an Internet library. Its purposes include offering permanent access for researchers, historians, scholars, people with disabilities, and the general public to historical collections that exist in digital format.

College & Research Libraries (C&RL)

College & Research Libraries (C&RL) is the official scholarly research journal of the Association of College & Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association, 50 East Huron St., Chicago, IL 60611. C&RL is a bimonthly, online-only publication and hosts periodic live online fora highlighting a new C&RL study with a free, live, expert panel comprised of the study's authors and additional subject experts.

Association for the Development of Education in Africa –

Association for the Development of Education in Africa is based in France and affiliated with World Bank and UN. ADEA focuses on education policies more so than academic research. But of course, they use research data and studies.

Eduational Research Network for West and Central Africa (ERNWACA) -

The Educational Research Network for West and Central Africa (ERNWACA) or Réseau Ouest et Centre African de Recherche en Education (ROCARE) was established in 1989 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Currently, ERNWACA is managing a wide range of programs and projects in its sixteen member countries. These countries are: the ten French-speaking countries of Benin, Burkina Faso, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Central African Republic, Senegal and Togo. The two bilingual countries of Cameroon and Mauritania the lusophone country of Guinea Bissau, and the four English-speaking countries of Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
